i really can’t wait to hear the new sound. from what i know about metallica, and what i have read or heard this album will be very much in the style of metallica that everyone knows and loves. i love everything metallica does, actually am more partical to “load” Reload” and St anger”, the music level on the last album was a little different, but the lyrical content of that album was by far to me the best lyrical content metallica has put out in years. i am looking forward to see what it sounds like now with a new spin on metallica, with robert and rick rubin. bob rock was great, but became out of touch with the current level of the music scence. both metallica and rock benefited from there years of working together, but by far cutting him loose was the best decision the band could make. if you watch “some kind of monster” you can get a feel that bob input was differing from what the band wanted to do, and now that the band interacts as a unit instead of lars and james being being the whole show. the change was needed. the song i am looking forward to hearing the most is “unforgiven III” as i want to see if addiction is brought into the saga now as the child has gotten older and grown into an adult.

when i last spoke with someone close to the band they said mid sept will be a release date and novemeber will be american leg of the tour starting on the west coast to keep the band close to family for the holidays.

“There’s nowhere else I can run to

She’s wrenching but she comforts me
”

    I believe that’s actually:

“There’s nowhere else I can run to

She’s wretched but she comforts me
”

But from what I’ve heard from the album, it sounds fucking amazing. Back to their roots, back to pure, fast, metal! It’ll be a redeeming album for sure for Metallica, after St. Anger. (Though I did enjoy St. Anger, just not as much as the rest of their collection)

Can’t wait to hear the single. Viva la Metallica! \m/

Almost sounds like the first line from Cyanide goes like this. “Sleep…and dream of death, and of angels kiss, bring my own death.” The bass line by Robert is amazing in Cyanide….can’t wait till this album drops on 9/12!

In the 2nd video of August 17th (the one for platinum members) you can hear James doing voice excercises. He’s singing lyrics that seem to belong to The Unforgiven III.
I don’t have the time to wrote it all down rightnow, but here’s the line that made me pretty sure about it:

    “How can I blame you
    When it’s me, I can’t forgive”

I don’t think that James and the other guys “feel” what they say

    Why don’t you change sound?
nobody will die if the lyrics will be simpler and possible to be hear by everybody!

Pls give a sense to what have you written

I’ve been starting to hear Metallica when I was 16 y.o
    now I’m 27.
    and I’m changed.
I think that Metallica guys are changed too.
So, you don’t need to sacrifice your music for new people but follow them like they follow you during this years.

METALLICA has always played by their rules and that has never really changed-so they put an album of material that many people might not have agreed with , that is their right to do so.I have been into Metallica since Ride The lightning and tomorrow I turn the big 40-so I guess I can say have been a long time fan.One thing with Metallica is that you CANNOT pigeon hole them and it is good that they evolve. Why put out the same boring shit album after album leave that to the poseur bands who think that they can play with tried and true legends such as METALLICA and IRON MAIDEN etc.
    Cheers

The song that didn’t make it on the album I think is called “Hellbound”. But the album is great nontheless.

I’m listening to Death Magnetic as I write this.

I am blown away by The Unforgiven III - the intro is just amazing. So melodic.

Alot of people slag off Metallica, I am a big fan since forever, basically.
To all the haters, and moaners, and critics I say this:

Name one band in history EVER, to have five straight #1 albums across the entire World, with whats considered (by some) as their WORST albums. Not a bad effort, it usually takes your best effort I’ve always thought. but not the mighty Metallica……

the point which is conspicuous and flagrant in the album , is the poor creativity of the composer in the melody innovation , which had been the most powrful aspects of the band ever bofore . but the power-chords and rythmic aspects are marvelous and appreciable .
although their powers are waning , but still there’s an eye-catching superemacy from other bands working in the same gendre and style . . .
